Juvenile Court Upgrades, Expansions, and Aids

The Clayton County Juvenile Court (CCJC) can make numerous changes to improve court services with the help of ARPA funding. The biggest improvement for the court was the upgraded JCATS system. JCATS will transition to using Microsoft Edge, instead of Microsoft Explorer (Note: Microsoft plans to retire Explorer by June 15, 2022). This update facilitates continued remote access to databases and helps resolve the current case backlogs, which is a top priority for CCJC.

CCJC is also adding scanners to the office to enable hassle-free scans into JCATS desktops. Remote hearings during the pandemic have ensured successful court proceedings while protecting the health and safety of all parties. CCJC will add 3 recording PCs and annual subscriptions to their Zoom teleconference interface to improve productivity and efficiency by allowing multiple courtrooms to operate simultaneously. This improvement is timely – we are facing increasing demands for remote hearings.
