Development Authority of Clayton County Training Opportunities

The Development Authority of Clayton County (DACC) strives to address the negative economic impact on Clayton County’s residents. DACC will train citizens in higher skills jobs that command higher pay.  Higher pay helps decrease the amount of underemployment* in the county.  DACC will partner with Construction Ready, Goodwill of North Georgia, and Accession Distribution Training Center to provide training in construction, CDL, truck driving, forklift operation, diesel mechanics, and heavy equipment operations.

*Underemployment varies from unemployment. It occurs when jobs do not use employees’ full capabilities. This can happen when employers do not give their employees enough hours and/or have them work part-time when they wish to work full-time. The employee might also be overqualified for the position and unable to use his/her experience or skills in their job. Underemployed employees may work several jobs to make enough money for their living expenses.
